Harry Jonas is a skilled and respected Stonemason, Carver and Letter Cutter with 30 years experience in all aspects of his craft. He undertakes commissions for private clients, designers, construction companies and public bodies, providing a complete service with precision drawings, first class masonry and carving, and installation. Harry trained at Weymouth college, one of the UK’s premier Stonemasonry & Carving centres, and was then apprenticed to a Master Mason and Carver. He spent his apprenticeship in Oxford and London, working on the world famous Oxford University colleges and Houses of Parliament. He moved then to Salisbury Cathedral Masonry yard, where he worked for 3 years on the restoration of the Spire and medieval fabric of this unique building.

Harry is experienced in working many types of stone, from the local Chicksgrove (chicksgrovequarry.co.uk), Portland, Purbeck, Ham Hill and Bath Stone, to those from further afield, such as Lincoln Silver (lincolncathedral.com), Ancaster and Clipsham. Harry also continues to work in the restoration of listed buildings and monuments, churches, stately homes and museum artefacts, while relishing opportunities to create bespoke pieces in traditional and modern styles.
