whilst the landlord had brought another pub, the hare and hounds, if you try to book at the cricks they direct you to the hare and hounds, this new pub was good when it opened but from talking to a lot of people who east out locally alot it is not very good value for money. Food is good but not a lot of it and very, very expensive
Great atmosphere in this rural pub in the soft underbelly of England. It's a Wadworth pub, but you'll find only friendly service and conversation with the locals here - no TV or music. The menu specialises in local produce (trout and watercress from the river test) and it's unlikely you'll have room for any desert! It's a popular place and you will have to book for lunch and/or dinner and they are closed all day on Monday. The landlord has just bought his own pub a few miles away - The Hare and Hounds in Charlton down, where he hopes to replicate the experience - not been there yet.
